Age : Circa.2500BC

Nearest Landmark : Mulloch Hill

Location :

A short walk from roadside, in Mulloch Hill forrest, along a well troden forrest road

Other Details :

This circle is slightly oval with dimentions of some 18x15 meters Known as the 'Nine Stanes Circle'
the recumbent stone circle differs from sites such as Sunhoney or Loanhead in having a recumbent
and flanking stone set on the edge of the inner cairn, while the remaining standing stones
are set on an oval arc This variation in plan suggests that this circle was built late in the
sequence of recumbent stone circles. A funnel shaped pit was unearthed in the center
of the circle, slab lined, and full of cremated bones
